Rezumat:  The Catholicity of the Church – Universality and Communion. The third feature of the Church, as we confess in the Niceeo – Constantinopolitan symbol of faith, article 9 is the catholicity. In extensive sense catholicity designates the Church of everywhere and always, it being destined to everyone and in intensive sense the Catholic Church has everything that is necessary for salvation. The catholicity’s basis is: 1. The Holy Trinity, because the catholicity of the Church has it’s fundament in the perichoretic life of Holy Trinity, it being a reflex of the intratrinitary communion and life. 2. Christ’s work – all the people are called to become limbs of Christ’s Body – The Church. The Saviour realized a potential catholicity assuming the human nature in His unique Ipostasis. 3. Holy Ghost’s work, which sustains and brings up to date the catholicity of Church, because He is the inner power of Church. 4. Holy Eucharist that is pre-eminently the Sacrament of Church’s catholicity. The catholicity’s elements are: 1. the common origin of the humanity – unity of origin, being and destiny – the salvation in Christ through Holy Ghost in Church. 2. The identity of faith – everyone’s identification with the same confession of faith of the Church. 3. The sacramental and the spiritual life of communion (Acts 2, 42). Church’s catholicity opens the way of ecumenism and sustains the universality of salvation – the evangelic message is destined to everyone.
